Landscaping, decks & fences in Brampton, Ontario

Brampton’s Building Division needs a permit for a finished basement, a second unit, new or enlarged window and door openings, and any deck that is attached to the house or 0.6 m (2 ft) or more above the ground. A storage shed needs one at 15 m² or more, and a gazebo or other accessory building at 10 m² or more. Re-shingling, a fence (other than a pool fence) and swapping a forced-air furnace without changing the ductwork don’t. Brampton’s Tree Preservation By-law needs a permit to remove or injure a tree on private property that is 30 cm or more in diameter at 1.37 m above the ground. Trees within 2 m of an occupied building are exempt. Doyo books landscaping across Brampton: describe the job, see the full price before you book, and pay only when it is done.

Landscaping & Decks in Brampton: common questions

Help centre

By written quote. A pro visits, looks at the space and sends a line-by-line quote in the app. You pay a deposit when you accept it, and Doyo holds that deposit until you confirm the work is done. Part of the pro’s payment is held back for a warranty period after completion, so there is still money on the table if something needs putting right.
