Brampton’s Tree Preservation By-law needs a permit to remove or injure a tree on private property that is 30 cm or more in diameter at 1.37 m above the ground. Brampton doesn’t clear driveway windrows, and residential sidewalks must be cleared by 11 a.m. the day after a snowfall. Residents 65 and over or with a permanent physical disability can get up to $300 ($400 on a corner lot) toward hired snow clearing for the 2026/2027 winter.
