Terms of Service
Last updated: August 23, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Doyo platform, operated by Doyo Inc. ("Doyo", "we", "us") in Ontario, Canada. By creating an account or booking a service you agree to them.
What Doyo is
Doyo is a marketplace intermediary. We connect customers with independent home-service providers; we do not ourselves perform the services. Providers on Doyo are independent contractors — they are not employees, agents, or partners of Doyo, and they are solely responsible for the quality and performance of the work they carry out.
Bookings and pricing
Prices shown at booking are estimates based on the provider's hourly rate, the estimated duration, and a 10% platform fee. The final charge corresponds to the confirmed order price. All amounts are in Canadian dollars.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. When a provider is assigned you authorize the order amount on your card; the charge is only captured when the job is completed. If an order is cancelled before completion, the authorization is released (or the charge refunded, if already captured). Doyo never stores your card details.
Cancellations
You may cancel an order free of charge while it is being matched or before the provider begins work. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may lead to account restrictions. Providers may also cancel; in that case any payment hold is released in full.
Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate service details and a safe, accessible work location.
- Use the platform lawfully and treat providers respectfully.
- Keep your account credentials secure — you are responsible for activity on your account.
Reviews and reports
Reviews must reflect your genuine experience. We may remove content that is unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent, and may suspend accounts that misuse the platform. You can report a provider from the app; reports are reviewed by our team.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Doyo's total liability for any claim arising out of the platform is limited to the amount you paid for the order giving rise to the claim. Doyo is not liable for the acts or omissions of independent providers, nor for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Ontario law, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms from time to time; material changes will be communicated in the app or by email. You may stop using Doyo and delete your account at any time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Disputes are subject to the courts of Ontario.
