This page says plainly what Doyo is responsible for and what it is not. It sits alongside our Terms of Service and the Service Agreement, and does not replace either of them.
Doyo is an intermediary
Doyo Inc. operates a marketplace. We introduce customers to independent service providers, handle booking and payment, and keep the record of what was agreed. We do not carry out the work. The providers on Doyo are independent contractors running their own businesses — not employees, agents or partners of Doyo.
We do not warrant the work
We do not guarantee the quality, timing or outcome of any job, and we do not warrant that a provider will be available for a given request. Verification, background checks and ratings reduce risk; they are not a guarantee, and nobody should read them as one.
Licensing and permits
Providers warrant to us that they hold the licences their trade requires in Ontario — electrical work by an ECRA/ESA licensed contractor, gas work by a TSSA-registered contractor, and so on. We ask for that warranty and act on what we are told; we are not the licensing authority, and we do not certify any trade. Where work needs a municipal permit, obtaining it is a matter between the customer and the provider.
Estimates and quotes
Prices shown before a job are estimates or quotes given by the provider, not fixed prices set by Doyo, except for Doyo's own fee. Under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002 the final amount may not exceed a written estimate by more than ten per cent unless the customer agrees to the higher amount in writing first.

Automated and AI-assisted features
Parts of Doyo use automated systems, including an assistant that helps describe a job and suggest options. Those suggestions can be wrong. Nothing an automated feature says is a commitment by Doyo or by a provider — the figures that bind anyone are the ones shown on the order and, where applicable, the ones you accept in writing.
Limits of liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, Doyo's liability for a claim connected to an order is limited to the amount paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. That limit does not apply to anything that cannot be limited under Ontario law — including liability for our own negligence causing injury, and including the rights the Consumer Protection Act, 2002 gives consumers regardless of what any agreement says.
