Landscaping, decks & fences in Mississauga, Ontario
Mississauga needs a building permit for a finished basement, a deck more than 0.61 m (2 ft) high, a backwater valve, a higher-efficiency furnace or altered ductwork, and any sink, tub, toilet or shower that’s added or moved. A free-standing, one-storey storage shed under 15 m² with no plumbing doesn’t need one, and neither does a fence. Mississauga needs a permit to injure or remove any tree on private property that is 15 cm (6 in) or more in diameter, including dead or dying trees. The base permit fee is $399.77, waived for dead or dying trees. Doyo books landscaping across Mississauga: describe the job, see the full price before you book, and pay only when it is done.

Mississauga has three heritage conservation districts: Meadowvale Village, Old Port Credit Village and Streetsville. Work there has to follow the district’s Heritage District Plan, and on a designated property changes to windows, doors, roofing or masonry need heritage approval before they start.

Peel Region collects Mississauga’s yard waste from March to mid-December — weekly in spring and fall, every other week in summer — in kraft paper bags or labelled, open rigid containers, never plastic bags or sod. Each bag, container or tied brush bundle must weigh under 20 kg. The City takes over collection on October 1, 2027.
