Landscaping, decks & fences in Caledon, Ontario

Caledon’s Building Services needs a permit for a finished basement or basement apartment, a deck more than 60 cm (24 in) above grade at any point, a shed of 15 m² (161 sq ft) or more, and any new or altered plumbing, heating or septic system. Replacing a furnace, water heater or air conditioner in a house, or swapping windows and doors in the same-size opening, doesn’t need one. Since January 1, 2026, Caledon’s Tree Preservation By-law needs a permit to remove or injure a tree 30 cm or more in diameter at 1.37 m above the ground; there is no application fee for now. Dead and hazardous trees are exempt, and trees inside a woodland fall under the separate Woodland Conservation By-law. Doyo books landscaping across Caledon: describe the job, see the full price before you book, and pay only when it is done.

Help centre

By written quote. A pro visits, looks at the space and sends a line-by-line quote in the app. You pay a deposit when you accept it, and Doyo holds that deposit until you confirm the work is done. Part of the pro’s payment is held back for a warranty period after completion, so there is still money on the table if something needs putting right.
