Gutter & yard work in King, Ontario
King’s curbside yard waste runs from the week of April 6 to the week of December 1 and no longer takes grass clippings, so big fall leaf and brush clean-ups need to be bagged in paper before the last pickup. King collects yard waste from the week of April 6 to the week of December 1, in paper yard-waste bags or open rigid containers marked as yard waste; bundles can be at most 1.5 m (5 ft) long and 22 kg (50 lb). Grass clippings are no longer collected, and plastic bags are left behind. King has no permit for removing a single tree on your own property and you need not notify the Township. A tree that is part of a woodlot or woodland needs a permit from York Region Forestry, and trees on parks or road allowances may not be removed or pruned. King’s Senior Snow Removal Assistance Program clears one car-width of the plow windrow at the end of the driveway, on weekdays after at least 10 cm (4 in) of snow, for households where everyone is 65 or older or no one over 12 can clear snow. Applications for the 2026/2027 season close on October 30.
