Landscaping, decks & fences in Oshawa, Ontario

Oshawa’s Building Services needs a permit for finishing a basement, changing heating or plumbing systems, a shed over 15 m² (161 sq ft), and a deck that is more than 600 mm (24 in) high or has a roof. Replacing a furnace with the ductwork unchanged, a same-size window or door, plumbing fixtures, or shingles needs none. Oshawa’s Tree By-law protects City trees — usually those within 2 m of the curb or 1.5 m of the sidewalk — which residents may not prune or alter. For private trees, only Durham Region’s Woodland By-law applies, to woodlands larger than 1 hectare. Doyo books landscaping across Oshawa: describe the job, see the full price before you book, and pay only when it is done.

By written quote. A pro visits, looks at the space and sends a line-by-line quote in the app. You pay a deposit when you accept it, and Doyo holds that deposit until you confirm the work is done. Part of the pro’s payment is held back for a warranty period after completion, so there is still money on the table if something needs putting right.
