Landscaping, decks & fences in Pickering, Ontario

Pickering’s Building Services needs a permit for finishing a basement with walls added or removed, any new plumbing, enlarging or moving windows and doors, a shed over 15 m² (161 sq ft) and a deck more than 60 cm (24 in) above the ground. Furnace or boiler replacement in a detached house, same-size window replacement and basement waterproofing repairs need none. Pickering’s Tree Protection By-law (8073/24) needs a permit to remove a tree in a designated protection area — usually along creeks and green spaces — for $155; trees outside those areas need none. Dead or hazardous trees in a protection area still need the permit, free with a certified arborist’s report. Doyo books landscaping across Pickering: describe the job, see the full price before you book, and pay only when it is done.

Help centre

By written quote. A pro visits, looks at the space and sends a line-by-line quote in the app. You pay a deposit when you accept it, and Doyo holds that deposit until you confirm the work is done. Part of the pro’s payment is held back for a warranty period after completion, so there is still money on the table if something needs putting right.
