Yard waste

Peel Region collects Brampton’s yard waste from March into December — weekly in spring and fall, every other week in July, August and September. Use kraft paper bags or rigid containers labelled “yard waste” (up to 125 L), each under 20 kg; plastic bags and grass clippings aren’t taken.

Brampton’s Tree Preservation By-law needs a permit to remove or injure a tree on private property that is 30 cm or more in diameter at 1.37 m above the ground. Trees within 2 m of an occupied building are exempt.

Snow

Brampton doesn’t clear driveway windrows, and residential sidewalks must be cleared by 11 a.m. the day after a snowfall. Residents 65 and over or with a permanent physical disability can get up to $300 ($400 on a corner lot) toward hired snow clearing for the 2026/2027 winter.

Some trades also ask for proof of liability insurance; the application tells you if yours does. Doyo reviews your documents — usually within a couple of business days.

Payouts

How payouts work

For jobs the customer pays by card through Doyo, your earnings reach your Doyo balance when the job is completed, and payouts are sent weekly by e-transfer. Tips are yours in full. On quote jobs, the deposit and balance are held until the customer confirms the work, and a warranty holdback is released after the warranty period.

Why Doyo Pro

Doyo’s fee is added on the customer’s side, on top of your rate — you keep the rate you set. Some categories carry a smaller fee on large jobs. Whatever applies is fixed on the job when you accept it, and your earnings are shown on the offer.

Brampton’s Building Division. Brampton’s Building Division needs a permit for a finished basement, a second unit, new or enlarged window and door openings, and any deck that is attached to the house or 0.6 m (2 ft) or more above the ground. A storage shed needs one at 15 m² or more, and a gazebo or other accessory building at 10 m² or more. Re-shingling, a fence (other than a pool fence) and swapping a forced-air furnace without changing the ductwork don’t.
