The housing here

Mississauga’s Basement Flooding Prevention Rebate pays up to $7,500 for detached, semi-detached, duplex and townhouse owners — up to $6,000 for a sump pump, $1,000 for capping the foundation drain, $1,500 for a storm backwater valve and $125 per downspout disconnection. Work must be pre-approved before it starts and installed by a licensed contractor. Peel Region adds 60% of the cost, up to $1,500, for a sanitary backwater valve with a permit and passed inspection.

Mississauga needs a building permit for a finished basement, a deck more than 0.61 m (2 ft) high, a backwater valve, a higher-efficiency furnace or altered ductwork, and any sink, tub, toilet or shower that’s added or moved. A free-standing, one-storey storage shed under 15 m² with no plumbing doesn’t need one, and neither does a fence.

- Government photo ID and a matching selfie
- A clear police record check
- A smartphone with the Doyo Pro app

No provincial licence
No. Flooring and tile installation need no provincial licence. You pass Doyo’s ID and police record checks and quote each job after checking the subfloor.
Some trades also ask for proof of liability insurance; the application tells you if yours does. Doyo reviews your documents — usually within a couple of business days.
Payouts
How payouts work
For jobs the customer pays by card through Doyo, your earnings reach your Doyo balance when the job is completed, and payouts are sent weekly by e-transfer. Tips are yours in full. On quote jobs, the deposit and balance are held until the customer confirms the work, and a warranty holdback is released after the warranty period.
