Enbridge Gas supplies natural gas in Burlington. Furnaces, water heaters and gas fireplaces are serviced by TSSA-certified gas technicians; if you smell gas, leave the house and call Enbridge’s emergency line or 911 from outside. Burlington’s houses lean older: a third were built between 1961 and 1980, the largest share of any period, and about half are single-detached. Building permits

Burlington doesn’t need a building permit for a fence, a shed under 15 m² with no plumbing, like-for-like furnace or air-conditioner replacement, or swapping plumbing fixtures of the same type in the same place. Most other work — including a basement finish — goes through a building permit application, and the City asks for a Pre-Building Approval (zoning, grading and tree check) first.

Help centre

You see the price before you book. Some jobs are a flat price, some are priced by the measure — a bedroom, a window, a square foot — and some are by the hour; the page says which, and so does the app before you confirm. Prices on this site are the full price, Doyo’s service fee included — nothing is added at checkout. Your card is held when a pro is confirmed and charged only when the job is marked complete. If the work turns out bigger, the pro has to put the new figure to you in the chat and wait for your yes — under Ontario law they cannot charge more than 10% over the estimate without your agreement.
