Doyo is a home-services marketplace working across Toronto, York Region and the GTA, starting in Newmarket. A customer describes what is wrong in their own words — not a category dropdown, just what they would say to you on the phone. Doyo works out what the job is and puts it in front of verified pros nearby.
You set your rate and you keep it
You set your own hourly rate, and that is the rate the job is priced from. Doyo’s fee is added on the customer’s side, on top of your rate — 18% by default, varying a little by service and by job size. Whatever applies is fixed on the job the moment you accept, so no later fee change can reach a job you already took.
If a customer pays with a coupon or Doyo credit, that comes out of Doyo’s share. It never touches yours. Tips are 100% yours, with no fee taken at all.
What it costs to join
Nothing. No subscription, no monthly fee, and you do not buy leads. You are never charged for seeing a job or for declining one. Declining is free. The only thing that costs you is accepting a job and then cancelling it, because by then a customer is expecting you.
You are not an employee
Pros on Doyo are independent contractors running their own businesses. You choose which jobs to take, you set your price, you use your own tools, and you can work anywhere else at the same time. That also means your taxes, insurance and licences stay yours to keep in order.
Why customers trust the person who shows up
- Government photo ID and a matching selfie
- A police record check from your local service
- Your trade licence, where the trade needs one
Electrical, plumbing, gas and pest control are licensed trades in Ontario. Doyo checks the licence before you are offered that work, and again when it is due to renew.
