Electricity
The Town of Caledon directs new residents to set up their hydro account with Hydro One, which delivers the electricity across the town. Caledon is not part of Alectra’s service territory, so panel changes and service upgrades are arranged with Hydro One alongside the electrician’s ESA notification.

Caledon does not issue electrical permits. In Ontario the licensed electrical contractor files the work with the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA), which inspects it. Ask your electrician for the ESA notification number.

Licensed trade
Yes. Electrical work for hire in Ontario must be done by an ECRA/ESA Licensed Electrical Contractor, so Doyo checks the licence before you are offered electrical work and keeps it current. Customers can look the number up on the Electrical Safety Authority’s site.
Some trades also ask for proof of liability insurance; the application tells you if yours does. Doyo reviews your documents — usually within a couple of business days.
Payouts
How payouts work
For jobs the customer pays by card through Doyo, your earnings reach your Doyo balance when the job is completed, and payouts are sent weekly by e-transfer. Tips are yours in full. On quote jobs, the deposit and balance are held until the customer confirms the work, and a warranty holdback is released after the warranty period.
