What customers see

Water

Stouffville’s tap water is a blend of Lake Ontario water and groundwater and averaged 318 mg/L of hardness in the second quarter of 2026; Ballantrae–Musselman’s Lake runs on groundwater at 205 mg/L. Both are “very hard” on York Region’s scale, enough to scale fixtures and water heaters quickly, and some rural homes are on private wells instead.

Large items

Large items in Whitchurch-Stouffville are collected by appointment only, booked with GFL by noon on the Monday of your collection week, five items at most per pickup. More than that is a junk-removal job.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Customers let Doyo pros into their homes. These checks are why they do.

  • 18 or older, legally able to work in Canada
  • Government photo ID and a matching selfie
  • A clear police record check
  • A smartphone with the Doyo Pro app
  • Your own tools, and transport to jobs

No provincial licence

No. House cleaning needs no provincial licence in Ontario. You still pass Doyo’s photo ID and selfie match and a police record check before you are offered work.

Some trades also ask for proof of liability insurance; the application tells you if yours does. Doyo reviews your documents — usually within a couple of business days.

Payouts

How payouts work

For jobs the customer pays by card through Doyo, your earnings reach your Doyo balance when the job is completed, and payouts are sent weekly by e-transfer. Tips are yours in full. On quote jobs, the deposit and balance are held until the customer confirms the work, and a warranty holdback is released after the warranty period.

Why Doyo Pro

Doyo’s fee is added on the customer’s side, on top of your rate — you keep the rate you set. Some categories carry a smaller fee on large jobs. Whatever applies is fixed on the job when you accept it, and your earnings are shown on the offer.
