Renovation: common questions
How is a renovation priced on Doyo?
By written quote. A pro visits, looks at the space and sends a line-by-line quote in the app. You pay a deposit when you accept it, and Doyo holds that deposit until you confirm the work is done. Part of the pro’s payment is held back for a warranty period after completion, so there is still money on the table if something needs putting right.
Do I need a building permit?
Often. Finishing a basement, moving walls or plumbing, and adding a bathroom usually need a permit from your town. Ask the contractor to confirm which permits the job needs and who applies for them, in writing, in the quote.
Can a big renovation earn Doyo credit?
Yes. Larger projects can earn credit toward your next job in the same trade — the amount depends on the job, and Doyo tells you when it is earned.
