Plumbers in Uxbridge, Ontario

Uxbridge’s housing is older and lower-density than the lakeshore towns: about 43% of homes were built before 1981, one in five in 1960 or earlier, and about 81% are single-detached houses. Uxbridge’s municipal water comes from groundwater wells, not the lake, and at 186 mg/L of hardness it is harder than the lakeshore towns’ 125 mg/L — enough to scale fixtures and water heaters. Rural homes outside the system are on private wells. Ask the plumber whether the job needs a permit from Uxbridge’s Building Division. Doyo books plumbing across Uxbridge: describe the job, see the full price before you book, and pay only when it is done.

About Uxbridge

Building permits

Uxbridge’s Building Division needs a permit for a deck or raised porch that is attached and more than 24 in off the ground or roofed, a shed over 15 m² (161 sq ft), HVAC work, plumbing additions and alterations, and a basement apartment. Same-size window replacements, plumbing fixtures replaced in the same spot, and storage sheds under 15 m² need none.

Plumbing in Uxbridge: common questions

Help centre

You see the price before you book. Some jobs are a flat price, some are priced by the measure — a bedroom, a window, a square foot — and some are by the hour; the page says which, and so does the app before you confirm. Prices on this site are the full price, Doyo’s service fee included — nothing is added at checkout. Your card is held when a pro is confirmed and charged only when the job is marked complete. If the work turns out bigger, the pro has to put the new figure to you in the chat and wait for your yes — under Ontario law they cannot charge more than 10% over the estimate without your agreement.
