A tree that is part of a woodlot or woodland needs a permit from York Region Forestry, and trees on parks or road allowances may not be removed or pruned. King collects yard waste from the week of April 6 to the week of December 1, in paper yard-waste bags or open rigid containers marked as yard waste; bundles can be at most 1.5 m (5 ft) long and 22 kg (50 lb). Grass clippings are no longer collected, and plastic bags are left behind.
