Toronto’s Basement Flooding Protection Subsidy pays 80% of the invoice up to $1,600 per backwater valve (two at most), $2,250 for a sump pump, $300 for a battery backup, $400 to sever and cap the foundation drain and $500 for a plumbing assessment — up to $6,650 per house. Downspouts must be disconnected, the contractor needs a City business licence, and you apply within two years.
