Both councils approved selling NT Power to Alectra in March 2026; the sale is before the Ontario Energy Board, and NT Power keeps operating until it closes.

Newmarket does not issue electrical permits. In Ontario the licensed electrical contractor files the work with the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA), which inspects it. Ask your electrician for the ESA notification number.
